Arrive Cairo International Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Zoster Hotel where you stay three nights at this hotel which is situated close to the Pyramids at Giza, and begin your journey into Egyptian history and culture (B)
Saturday Cairo
Following breakfast, we drive to nearby Giza; its landscape dominated by the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerius, and by the Sphinx, there will be time to explore inside one of the Pyramids an awesome experience, We will also inspect the beautifully restored solar sola boat of King Chephren and enter the Valley Temple in which the mummified body of the king rested before being interred in his pyramid, we will include a visit to the Citadel, the spectacular complex dominating Cairo's skyline, a visit to the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Mohammed Ali's Alabaster Mosque with its highly decorated and ornate interior. In Old Cairo we will visit the Hanging Church of St. Mary above the Water Gate (B.L.)
Sunday Cairo
Following breakfast, we enter the bustle of Cairo, the greatest metropolis of the Middle East, to explore the highlights of Islamic Cairo. Luncheon at a downtown Cairo restaurant and in the afternoon you can visit the Egyptian Museum, including the fabulous jewels of King Tutankhamon.transfer t (B.L.)
Monday Nile Cruise: Luxor
After checking out of our hotel, we take a early morning flight to Luxor, the modern name for ancient Thebes, once the capital of Egypt , which consisted of two cities lying on the west bank and east banks of the Nile. On arrival we transfer to our Nile Cruise ship which will become our floating hotel. Today's highlight is a visit to the Valley of the Kings, secluded in the Theban Hills, it is where the New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in dramatically shafted tombs built into the hillsides, we visit the Temple dinet Habou and then on to the breathtaking Deir el-Bahri, Queen Hatshepsut's impressive temple. We return to the ship and sail for Edfu. (B.L.D)
Tuesday Nile Cruise: Edfu - Kom Ombo
This morning we visit Edfu to see Egypt's best preserved cult temple, which was dedicated to the falcon god Horus. We continue our tranquil cruise along the Nile arriving at Kom-Ombo. Here relax on deck and watch primitive villages on the banks of the river glide by. They have changed little in a thousand years. (B.L.D)
Wednesday Kom-Ombo- Aswan
Today we visit the roofless Temple of Kom - Ombo, which was built for the falcon and crocodile gods. Next we cruise to Aswan where we take a memorable felucca ride across the Nile to visit the Botanical Gardens on Kitcheners's Island. The felucca is a traditional craft of Egyptians who have sailed in them down the centuries. An awesome sight is a blood red sunset, which is common place in Aswan, with distinctive sails of dozens of feluccas silhouetted against the setting sun. (B.L.D)
Thursday, Aswan
After breakfast we disembark to explore the High Dam, than a visit to the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae and the massive Unfinished Obelisk laying in the granite quarries nearby, afterwards, there is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take an optional excursion to the mighty Sun Temple of Abu Simbel, flanked by four giant stone statues of Ramses!I. The temple was reclaimed from the dam and reconstructed in its present and unforgettable location. We transfer to the airport for our return to Cairo. (B).
Friday, Cairo
After breakfast we disembark our Nile Cruiser and transfer to Aswan Airport for our flight back to Cairo and a transfer back to the Zoser Hotel, the remainder of the day will be free to explore on your own. (B)
Cairo at leisure
Enjoy a full day at leisure to relax in this bustling city. You may wish to visit the markets for some last minute souvenirs or spend time at the Cairo Museum. This evening you will enjoy a farewell dinner on a floating restaurant (B.D)
Departure
After breakfast and depending on the time of your flight, bid farewell to this unforgettable country as we transfer to the Airport for our return flight home. (B)
